Signing in

A link in your email, or your fingerprint. There is no password here.

Nobody invents or remembers a password here. Enter your email, a link arrives, and one click takes you in. The link lasts an hour and works once; each new request cancels the previous one, so the newest link is always the valid one.

If the link does not arrive within a few minutes, check your junk folder and look for a typo in the address.

You can also sign in with a Google or Facebook account — one tap, no typing an address, no trip to your mailbox. You give us the name and e-mail address from that account, and that company learns that you are signing in here. It is only convenience: the e-mail link stays a full path in, and an account with another company will never be a condition here.

After signing in we offer signing in with a fingerprint, your face or the code that unlocks the phone. Setting it up is a single tap. The offer can wait: Account can turn it on later at any time.

The fingerprint stays on the phone and never reaches us. All that leaves the device is a signature valid for this address and useless anywhere else — so it does not work on a spoofed page.

The fingerprint belongs to one device, not to the account. On a new phone you sign in with the email link and set the fingerprint up again there. That is why signing in by email never goes away.

Older phones and computers without a reader will not offer this. The email link works everywhere.
