Ancestry that stays after somebody takes the puppy home.

Every animal can have a father and a mother. You pick from your own animals of the same species, so nothing is typed by hand and nothing is mistyped. Older generations fill themselves in: once the parents have parents, the grandparents appear without further work.

It matters most at the handover. The breeding animals stay yours — only the puppy leaves. The new owner still sees its ancestry, because the pedigree travels with the profile. They receive only what a paper pedigree carries: name, breed and year. No chip numbers, no health records, nothing about you.

For a kennel that means two things. You finally have records that do not leave with the litter: puppies go in eight weeks, a breeding female stays ten years. And the new owner has a concrete reason to keep using the app — the bridge between your kennel and the person who drove away with a puppy.

The app keeps the pedigree sensible. An animal cannot be its own ancestor, a cat cannot have a dog for a father, and a female cannot be picked as the father. You can only set a parent you can see.
